On 29 July, I booked the hotel from 29 July - 2 August on Booking.com. It was an urgent situation and we needed a room desperately. When we arrived to check-in, the receptionist refused to accept my helper as a guest because she had tested positive for Covid.
Nevermind the fact that the hotel was actually listed in the Singapore Hotel Association as a SHN hotel.
They said that I would get a full refund if I contacted my booking agent - Booking.com.

So after settling my situation, I called Booking.com later that night and they sent an email to the hotel about the cancellation and asked me to call the hotel to reconfirm that they had received the document.

I called Room Reservation the following morning and was told that they indeed received the form and that I needed to submit proof that the guest was Covid positive and that they would waive the cancellation policy.

However, after sending in the email with the ART result, they have now refused to waive the cancellation policy and this is equivalent of one night's stay.

Instead, I was told to reach out to Booking.com - to their credit, the customer service officers have been very helpful but the hotel refuses to honour the waiver.
This is a total lack of integrity. I have spent a better part of my day trying to resolve this when there are more pressing matters like the care of my elderly mother since our helper is now in isolation.

We would like to clarify that our hotel is listed in the Singapore Hotel Association as a SHN hotel only for travellers who require isolation upon arrival to Singapore.

One of the worst hotel I ever stayed in my entire life. Right from checkin to checkout it's a flawlessly bitter journey through the hotel.
Particularly, the people in reception, the ones with Indian origin it looks like, from their accent and appearance, are exemplary of what not to do if you are working for the hospitality industry.
This guy named some Jivendran at reception ensures that the check in experience feels like going through the toughest emigration check in the world. He looks at the screen and raises his superior eyes and calls out to the arriving tired guest of any stature, 'So, Saniya...'
My goodness! I have not been addressed with such superior audacity in a long time, when asked about the bill if possible even if I booked through booking.com, this aforementioned lord of the reception again raised his superior eyes and declared, 'No bill.' It felt like, 'Get lost!'

Anyhow, I just wish this chap named Jivendran wouldn't come across me in any other hotel in any other country.

Now, comes the replenishment and cleaning of the room. Well, they did put some tea and toiletries in the room when I entered but then no replenishment any more. I had to come down to the reception asking for tea and someone kind enough got two sachets of tea for me.

I think they clean the rooms selectively. The bed was always made but the rest of the room was left to its devices.

Of course the rooms are ultra small more like matchboxes. But okay. I discount that for it's Singapore.

The breakfast is average. The egg counter is always geared to surprise. Either without or they would down several spoonfuls in wild generosity.

Overall, it's a bad experience. Had they taken care sensibly it could be a good place to stay.
